Sada Vidoo (born 30 June 1977) is a Danish singer born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Early life[]

Sada Vidoo was born on 30 June 1977 in Copenhagen to a Danish mother and a Palestinian father. As a child, Sada was isolated and bullied. She discovered music as a personal refuge and at an early age she wrote and recorded her own songs in her room.

Career[]

2000–12: Career debut[]

Sada started hanging out on the hip-hop and R&B scenes in Copenhagen, and before long her powerful voice could be found on numerous recordings. Following a single release with Danish pop sensation Me & My Sada even landed a personal contract with Virgin Records and her career seemed to be right on track.

One of Sada's first experiences with a ruthless music industry came in 2000 when she wrote the lyrics and sang the vocals on DJ Aligator's "Lollipop". Partly thanks to Sada's all too familiar scream "I wanna suck on your lollipop!," the single became an instant club hit. However, she did not star in the song's music video due to being "not pretty enough for the camera".

Her next contribution in a hit single came in 2006 with Infernal. The band liked "Ten Miles", a song Sada had written. Due to some disagreements about copyrights, the song was not included in the first edition of the band's album From Paris to Berlin. However, the song was included in the second edition of the album and the track topped single charts in Turkey, Spain, Poland and Scandinavia. In Denmark, the single was nominated for a Danish Club Hit of the Year Award in 2007 and Sada Vidoo earned her first platinum single. However, Sada is not credited as the songwriter of the song.

2012–present: A Story with No End[]

In 2012, Sada Vidoo met the popular British producer Chris Ballard and the acclaimed singer-songwriter Russ Ballard which lead to an album project. Sada Vidoo moved to England from Copenhagen to work in Ballard's East London studio. She finished recording her album a year later and her debut album A Story with No End was released on 11 August 2014, following the release of her debut single "The Actress" which was released on 9 June 2014. The album included two more singles: "China Doll", released on 19 January 2015 and a cover version of the hit by Pat Benatar, "Love Is a Battlefield", released on 3 February 2015.
